In 1963 these signs were stocked at 1 of the shelters in Florida. Following the Cuban Missile crisis of 1962 the President of the United States had undertaken for the nation an accelerated and strenghtened civil defense program which included a fallout shelter program.
The sign is original and was issued by the Department of Defense.
The sign is yellow and black with reflective paint. It is made of Galvanized Steel and is 10"x14".
